Complete Irrigations Solutions (CIS) is proud to be long standing partner of Warners Nursery who were voted the 2010 Best Large Production Nursery at the national Nursery and Garden Industry Awards and the 2010 Supplier of the Year at the Landscape Industry Association of Victoria awards. The team at CIS first worked for Warners Nursery in 1992 with the relationship lasting to this day as the nursery continually seeks to improve its water efficiency and effectiveness.
CIS supplied and installed the irrigation system for the 15 hectare nursery in 1999 which featured a Grundfos Hydro 2000 ME with three Grundfos CRE16-50 multi-stage pumps. The mainline and sprinkler systems were designed to deliver water efficiently to the outside growing beds and also a large area under shade cloth.
In 2007 with the drought in place, Warners Nursery sought to improve their water use and engaged CIS to supply and install a water re-use system. The system was designed to take water run-off from the nursery into concrete storage pits where Grundfos submersible pumps would pump the water via over 600 meters of 100mm PVC pipe to a new storage tank. Another pump would then transfer water from the new storage tank through a treatment plant using chlorine dioxide to eliminate possible pathogens and the into existing water storage tanks.
This investment resulted in a 30% decrease in water usage and so in 2009 the nursery commissioned CIS to supply and install a second run-off and re-use system. Utilising the topography of the nursery, water was to be drawn from a dam in the nursery and pumped through a treatment plant into a new storage tank from where the water would bere-used.
